MId Illini 2016

Post by O&B 78 » Mon Mar 21, 2016 7:45 pm

I don't follow softball real close but I do know Washington has 7 starters returning. Went by Jan Smith field and it looks FANTASTIC. And it will look even better when the championship sign is unveiled in about 3 weeks. 8 ) The ladies deserve it. Maybe Duvie can pop in and give us his $20.00 preview

In no particular order-

Washington- The Panthers are the reigning 3A champs, lose two starters, lost to EP twice, but beat them in regional title. Very talented and deep roster.

East Peoria- EP has won 47 Mid-Illini games in a row & are led by a great junior trio in Emert (Illinois St.), Graves (Butler) & Ferguson (undecided)

Canton- Awesome core of seniors (Shubert, Wells, Murphy, Sharpshair) are back for Bob Barnes, who will have his team playing real well down the stretch.

Limestone- Huge core of talented seniors (vonRohr, Thomson, Terrell) are back and could contend for a top-4 spot in the league.

Pekin- A big roster that includes a lot of talented and experienced seniors (Spiesz, for one), plus a true home field for Gigi MacIntosh will be huge.

Morton- Pitching will be the biggest question for the Potters & losing Chandler Ryan is big.

Metamora- An overflow of youth from last season will be looked to step up big this season, especially Sydney Litviak and Madi Vancil.

Dunlap- A big question mark comes in the circle, but the experience at other positions make the Eagles a tough out in league play.

The EP streak is over. Washington wins 4-1
Pretty amazing 52 MI game win streak for the Raiders. Will be quite awhile for someone to match / beat that.
