Post by Braveman »

Howard Moore’s wife and daughter were tragically killed in s head-on collision in Michigan last night. Howard and his son survived.

Prayers to the family.

Brutal. Life is totally random and often times unfair.

Brutal is right. But why are you out at 2AM with your family? Sad.

Saw somewhere that the crash happened on the highway around 2AM.

I just can't imagine myself being out that late with my family.

ok thanks..... not sure it’s any more dangerous being out at 2 am on the highways with significantly less traffic then it would be at high noon.

Yes more drunks but sheer volume during the day , at least IMO, would be more dangerous.

Either way I can’t see it that unusual or risky being out with your family at 2 am .....

I could be wrong too..... either way.... very sad.

Wow, that’s tragic.

On vacation, I’ve been known to be still driving the family at 2am. It’s usually not the plan, but sometimes it’s needed to make it to the planned stop.

Sister’s family often drove overnight to Texas and back. Made it more bearable with littles.

Awful story.

Sounds like it may have been a wrong way driver, who died in the crash, that caused it.

Howard Moore isn't the only one involved with college sports who has lost loved ones in a tragic car accident this weekend: https://www.oanow.com/news/auburn/voice ... c8dd2.html

Traveling at this hour on the highway is different than being "out at this hour". We traveled over night for years with our kids. My answer to this question is, we don't know. Tragic story.
Thanks J.J. for what I consider sound advice!

No family or s/o to speak of. I was on the way back from a gig in Chambana when I hit a deer going 75 at about 1:30 in the morning just outside of Carlock. Stone cold sober.

It’s a tragedy no matter how it happened. Prayers to him and his family....

Plenty of times my dad would load us up early on vacation, "to beat all that dam traffic!" That is why a family may be out at 2 am. Why even question that? Tombs14 hate to say this but this is as bad as talking about what a girl was wearing the day she was raped.

Prayers are going out for Moore's family and friends. I have no idea how I'd handle this.

For **** sake, no it's not! Jesus Christ.

Roads are brutally unsafer at night. Dangerous drivers and wildlife: both something you as a driver have a much miniscule reaction time to adjust to. But I guess that isn't common sense to many.

I'm sure he's going to question this over and over again the rest of his life and blame himself countless of times but in reality accidents happen at 2 am as well as 5 pm out on the road. The only time that 2 am is considered dangerous is on Sunday and I'd suspect on Saturday as well. The most dangerous times during the weekday is from 5-7 pm. https://online-drivers-licenses.org/blo ... drive.html

Howard suffered burns on left side of his body(as his wife was driving when accident happened). He reportedly had surgery and is up and walking after the surgery. His son was there to greet him after the surgery. Howard was quoted as saying his son was his hero because he saved him after the wreck.

More prayers for the upcoming days and weeks for the family!

Some good news for Howard Moore- he is continuing his recovery- and getting out of the hospital and heading back to Madison. Continued well-wishes to Howard, his son and extended family.

Can't imgine going through losing your wife, a kid and then having to man up for your other kid. I do not blame him one bit. Only time will help.

Had some issues over the weekend, including some cardiac issues. Understand he will get some specialized care. Prayers for Howard.
