Peoria City Football

Post by crkamm »

Info please. How are things looking on the Peoria side?
Who are Peoria High reloading with?
What will Manual's season look like?
Who will call the signals for the Knights?

Come on, it can't be all about the Washington QB situation.

Color me embarrassed, I just now saw that PPS teachers are working without a contract and talks are not going well. Could there be strike talk coming up? Could there be forfeits in future for city teams?

. Fwiw PND, Peoria, and Manual all have a non con game with Urbana out of the Big12. The Tigers just hired a new HC and with past problems fielding a varsity squad will announce next week if they will have one this season. With the start of football three weeks away should Urbana not field a team getting a replacement game will be almost impossible.

Rumor has it that Riverton and Fisher are canceling their seasons as well. I know these are some small schools, but that leaves the following without games: (Fisher only had a 5 game season per IHSA site)
Week 1: Olympia
Week 2: Gibson City, Williamsville
Week 3: New Berlin, Fieldcrest
Week 4: Maroa Forsyth, Ridgeview-Lexington Coop
Week 5: Pleasant Plains, Dee-Mack
Week 6: Auburn, Hayworth
Week 7: P.O.R.T.A.
WEEK 8: Athens
Week 9: Pittsfield

Mia Culpa. You are correct. Riverdale lost their season. Riverton only lost their coach.

I was gonna say that I hadn't heard anything about Riverton not being able to field a varsity team. Heck the success of their team last season (in Riverton terms at least) should be enough to draw some more kids out to play this season. Stinks for the kids that the coach decided to leave within a couple weeks of the first practice. The new coach is a 2014 Rochester grad that has been the OC at Riverton the last 4 seasons. And they aired it out quite a bit, much like Rochester likes to do. Last season's Hawks QB, Zach Hinds, who is now at IWU, threw for 2,569 yards and 26 TDs.

PND, Peoria High, and Manual are Big 12.

.This gent. His father was (or maybe still is) a coach at Rochester.

Or maybe not have someone that's overly obsessed with him in spite of the fact he's been out of the coaching profession for years now.

And a coach at some random school in Woodford County is somehow on the same level of those people you mentioned?

I just spent 2 weeks in Madison on UW campus.
I need to go back and check my posts of last 2 weeks as I’m pretty sure I had a second hand buzz most of the time. I’ve never smelled and seen so much weed in my lifetime.

‘Random Woodford County’
Maybe I misread your interpretation BJG?
I think I’m speaking for the majority here.. ( but if everyone is thinking alike) well you know.
Anyway, south of I-80 we are looked apon by the large Chicago schools as being kinda beneath them. (JMO)
You know back in the John Helmick days Metamora finally got recognition for being a 70’s powerhouse 75’ 76’ 77’state championship games.. but after that it all kinda fell apart till PR came in.
I guess I’m just reminiscing here… much like the older guys reminisced about the 70’s.
I shouldn’t have tried to put PR in the same league as Jesus and Mary, understood.
The days of PR as coach will be remembered forever in bird land.
All years were not glorious I understand.
2010- till PR retirement we’re mediocre.
Something about having the horses here…
