Editorial standard

The 9-Point Evidence Integrity Standard

Every case thread posted to PJ Star Forums is reviewed by a trained section lead against nine fixed criteria before it appears in the feed. It is the editorial discipline that distinguishes a working investigator's forum from an open message board — and it is the reason the Star Awards judging panel, 14 U.S.-based paranormal investigation teams, and six podcast networks now treat forum threads as a source-of-record.

  1. Consent & access. The posting investigator confirms written consent from the property owner, or a documented public-access status.
  2. Witness chain. Named or pseudonymous handles are stable, and witness statements are timestamped.
  3. Baseline readings. Environmental baselines (EMF, temperature, ambient audio) are recorded before any active investigation.
  4. Hardware documentation. Every device used is named, model-numbered, and calibrated within the prior 30 days.
  5. Raw & processed evidence. Both raw captures and any cleaned or enhanced versions are attached for peer review.
  6. Debunk-first review. Ordinary explanations — drafts, pareidolia, RF interference — are ruled out before posting.
  7. No property disturbance. Methods that damage property or disturb the deceased are grounds for removal.
  8. No medical, legal, or financial advice. Case threads stay scoped to investigation methodology.
  9. Moderator sign-off. One of 42 trained section leads (or, for cross-region cases, a board-certified moderator) signs off before the thread goes live.
